Q. How should I choose an Electrologist or massage therapist?

Regulation of electrology is on a state-by-state basis. States regulating the practice of electrology require a practitioner hold a valid license. Currently, Minnesota and Illinois do not regulate Electrologists at all. In Wisconsin Electrologists are State Licensed, they would hold an "RE" designation or "LE", both mean the same thing, that they have passed the state approved license examination. Since MN does not offer licensing and regulation of Electrolysis, I chose to attend and graduated from a WI accredited school (River Rock Electrology Institute, Eau Claire, WI )

I will be taking the Certified Professional
Electrologist national exam offered once a year by the American Electrology
Association.
